Our workshop focuses on inspiring you to become a CREATOR and MAKER. 

Gain the ability to create and make your own 3D Designs using advanced technology and systems that are used in state-of-the-art industries.  Have fun while acquiring the basic skills used in engineering, television, film, architecture or game development industry!

The workshops take you on a journey from an idea to a virtual model and end with a functional product. The workshops are built around PROJECTS that you want to CREATE and MAKE.

No prior experience necessary! Start out your journey with our beginner introduction workshop.

Workshop duration vary depending on the projects on offer.

Step 1

Beginner Introduction

Workshop fee: $159

Start your journey into the world of 3D modelling and printing while creating simple and functional products! 

 

What is covered in beginner course?

  • 3D Modelling Concepts

  • Become familiar with 3D Modelling software

  • Experience 3D Printing

  • Design a unique phone holder with built-in cable management

  • Have your own customised 3D printed phone holder 

At the end of the workshop you will know the basics of how to design and create your own 3D model and have it 3D printer ready, making your future journey with 3D printing possible. Once you complete the beginner experience you will be equipped to join further 3D modelling workshops.

Step 2

Workshop fee: $359

Learn to model your very own Iconic Legoman. Customise the expression, hair style, shirt design and add your own accessories. At the end of the workshop you will have your very own Legoman.

This workshop runs for 5 sessions, One 1.5 hours session per week.​

Requirement: Have completed the beginner introduction workshop once or have some prior CAD experience. 

  5 Sessions (1.5 hours per session)  

Make your own Legoman

Workshop fee: $439

Learn to model your very own pin-hole camera. Go back in time and find out about how photos were taken in the past and create your own pin-hole camera with a modern twist.

At the end of the workshop you will have a functioning camera which we will use to take real photos.

This workshop runs for 6 sessions, One 1.5 hours session per week.​

Requirement: Have completed the beginner introduction workshop once or have some prior CAD experience. 

  6 Sessions (1.5 hours per session)  

Make a functioning

Pin-hole camera

Make a Flying

Model rocket

  6 Sessions (1.5 hours per session)  

Become a rocket scientist.......;). Learn to model your very model rocket. Join the space race with your very own flying rocket. The rocket will feature a recovery system so you can fly the rocket over and over again.

At the end of the workshop you will have a flying model rocket which we will test out on the final session.

This workshop runs for 6 sessions, One 1.5 hours session per week.​

Requirement: Have completed the beginner introduction workshop once or have some prior CAD experience. 

Workshop fee: $399

Make a Working LED Phone stand Lamp

  6 Sessions  (1.5 hours per session)  

Using your phone at night but tired of needing to hold the phone? Why not create your own lamp with a built in phone stand. 

At the end of the workshop you will have a functioning custom lamp to use.

This workshop runs for 6 sessions, One 1.5 hours session per week.​

Requirement: Have completed the beginner introduction workshop once or have some prior CAD experience.

Mission 

At 3D Mind Ltd we aim to provide you with a good learning environment and small class sizes for personal attention and effective learning. When you join our courses we stride to enable you the skills and know-how to design, 3D Model and make your own designs utilising a CAD (Computer-aided design) system. We can help you advance with your 3D modelling skills.

Our Teacher  

Mick has over 15 years of 3D modelling experience and has been involved with 3D printing technology with over 7 years experience. He has 5 years of teaching experience at the University of Auckland specialising in mechanical engineering design and machining processes. During his time at the university he has helped to develop the design course to include 3D printing.
